Field Day 2018

Field Day 2018

The Eden Prairie Radio Club holds our annual Field Day activity during the last complete weekend of June each year at Miller Park, Eden Prairie MN.

We invite the general public to come learn about Amateur (Ham) Radio, and what it can do to provide emergency communications in times of need.

This is a National Emergency Preparedness exercise sponsored by a national amateur radio organization known as the ARRL. The purpose of the exercise is to test our ability to set up radio equipment under less than ideal circumstances, and using emergency power attempt to communicate with similar stations that will be located across the United States from sea to shining sea.

8405 Shoreline Drive, Eden Prairie, MN

To find us enter the park and drive to Shoreline Drive in the center of the park.  At whatever intersection you come to turn and go south to the end of the road.  We are in a park building at the far southern end of the park.

This event begin at 1 PM, continuing for 24 hours until 1 PM Sunday afternoon.

Visitors are invited to come learn about amateur radio, and try it out. We will have licensed amateur radio operators who will help visitors try out ham radio and see what it is all about.
