k9wn - Jake - Cleaning the basement and garage…. anyone want to wash the car for him?
ke0ecf - Ron - KNOW stated that good aurora would be visible in the next few days, bad for ham radio but great for viewing the night sky.
ak4wq - Soren - Went to MidWinter Madness in Buffalo, MN and picked up a new mount for his FT Rig.Also worked SO29 2 times.
ke0br - David - Also made it to MidWinter Madness and picked up a few connectors for the collection. Joined SMARTs for their Saturday meet-up as well.
n0wfj - bob - Echolink from Colorado and visited Daughter, Sister and having a ton of fun with family. 
kd0mgh - Ron- Experiment with the antenna seems to be going well. There was cellophane in between the mag mount and the pizza pan and removing it gives noticeably better reception.
kd0b - Dale  - Putting in the extra hours at work as well as making some plaques for a ham or two from SMARTs that does VE testing. 
wa0vll - Roger - mud and frozen ground up north, checked in with one for the count.

Last but not least. Note that Soren (AK4WQ) is offering to work satelites with anyone that is interested… contact info can be found through QRZ.

kd0mgh - Ron- surprised to see Jake at breakfast after doc appointment. Saw night before as well. Central middle school concert and slide show. Tomorrow another one at high school.

ke0br - David - stopped at one (Nicollete and 66th)of last 3 remaining radio shack stores. Closing next Sunday. 
kd0b - Dale  - Outdoor antenna is messed up so coming in through echo link. Went to Mankato with father in law for lunch with he boys. Also gave radio book to church member hoping to have another ham soon.

ke0ecf - Ron - Not much new this last week and next Saturday will be going to the MN Volunteer Org panel. (ARROW, Salvation Army, Red Cross and a few others)

n0wfj - Bob - Enjoying the nice pancake breakfast at the high school with the boy scouts, no snowboarding because today highland closed at 5pm.

Midwinter Madness Hobby Electronics Show, March 25th

Midwinter Madness March 25th, 2017 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM



The 35th Annual Midwinter Madness Hobby Electronics Show is at the Buffalo Civic Center in Buffalo, MN. This is a nice drive out Hwy 55 West from the Twin Cities with free on-site parking and a short walk to the building entrance.
Admission is still only $8 and children under 15 are free. Talk-in on the KØLTC Repeater 147.000 +600 - Call for KØLTC.

Amateur Radio VE Testing

    Saturday, March 25th, 2017 Advance registration encouraged!
    Exams start at 7:30 AM - ARRL VE fee $15.
    Email: mwmve@kØltc.org for more information and registration.
    What to bring to the VE Test Session:
  • Government issued photo ID (i.e.: Drivers License; School ID if a minor)
  • Amateur Radio License original AND photocopy (if currently licensed)
  • Know your Social Security Number (if currently NOT licensed)
  • Pen (for paperwork) and Pencil (for answers)
  • Calculator without saved formulas (we have loaner basic calculators)
  • Session fee $15.00 check or cash (prefer check made out to: ARRL/VEC)
